Have you taken a peek at Lauren’s shop Wearing History lately? If not, you really must! She’s been adding a dizzying array of vintage patterns and high quality reproductions of hard-to-find vintage sewing patterns (a good thing for those of us on a tight sewing budget!), as well as other vintage goodies worth taking a look at. These are just a few of my favorite at the moment from her shop, but be sure to see for yourself what treasures she has!

02. This amazingly adorable 1950s playsuit pattern would be perfect for catching some (hoped for!) summer sunshine while looking super stylish.

Specializing in beautiful vintage clothing and accessories, this shop offers a wide array of tempting vintage goodies!
Please give a warm welcome to one of the newest sponsors: Stelma Designs! The shop stocks a delightful array of vintage and handmade goods, all curated by the owner, Julia. Her passion for vintage started long ago, as she told me: “I have collected and worn vintage clothing since the late 1970’s and worked mostly in high end retail management after grad school and before I had my two daughters, Emma and Stella, which is where my shop name hales. I select clothing as near perfect as possible for vintage and I guess I have a passion for vintage lingerie, fine woolens and Hawaiian Aloha wear, but I have lots of other vintage items in my shop.”

[ 04. vintage black lace bustier, 05. 1930s peach rayon bedjacket. ]

One of my interests that I don’t mention a lot here is my love of vintage lingerie. Julia has a beautiful selection of vintage foundation garments, slips and other pretties to add a bit of femenine flair to your wardrobe! She has also offered a generous discount to all my blog readers: just message her through Etsy with the items you’d like to reserve, and receive 10% off your purchase by mentioning Casey’s Elegant Musings! Be sure to visit Stelma Designs for some lovely vintage goodies!

‘Tis the season for some wardrobe updating! I don’t know about you, but about this time in December every year, I get the itch to add a “new” something or the other into the mix, just to liven things up a bit. What better way to do this with a bit of panache than with vintage? That is where one of my lovely sponsors comes to the rescue: Crafty Crow Vintage. Brook has a drool-worthy array of lovely vintage pieces that are perfect for adding a bit of flair to your early winter wardrobe. Here are a few of my favorites:

01. Have I ever mentioned how much I love plaid? This classic, black and white wool plaid coat is just such a lovely example of mid century style…

02. These shoes are killer! I can see these with a sweet cocktail dress, or even a simple sheath for a bit of “pow!” without being too over-the-top.

03. Blouses are such a sweet way to add a bit of livening up to a day-to-day wardrobe. This adorable 40s sheer blouse would look so sweet under a suit, or just paired with a classic, a-line skirt!

05. I have a preoccupation with sweetheart necklines lately, so this dress is fitting the bill! I really love that it’s not only in a lovely velvet, but in a very sweet 40s silhouette (so many velvet dresses from the era tend to be longer)!

Be sure to drop by the shop to check out more of Brook’s offerings, and to keep up with her ever-changing (and often updated) selection. Thank you to Brook, and my other amazing sponsors, for your continued support!

Welcome to my newest sponsor: Wearing History! The shop offers a dizzying array of vintage clothing and patterns, as well as fantastic reproductions of vintage sewing patterns (great for those of us that covet a particularly hard to find style!). Lauren, the owner, has been interested in studying and collecting vintage clothing since 1994. She has done a lot within the fashion and historical community, including working with various playhouses and independent films in costuming. She told me that “aside from creating authentic period clothing my passions are vintage sewing patterns and finding old treasures to enjoy and pass on to others. I love everything from the 18th Century to the 1950s, but the Edwardian era and 1930s are my favorites”.

Even if you don’t sew or are interested in vintage sewing patterns (the main focus of the Wearing History shop), Lauren sells some lovely vintage pieces that are sure to excite! She is also offering gift certificates, which would be perfect for the dressmaker and vintage enthusiast on your holiday gift list! For the month of December, Lauren is kindly offering 10% off by mentioning Casey’s Elegant Musings with your purchase, during checkout.
