outfit: easy weekend

tshirt: Loft | trousers: made by me | telephone cord bag: vintage | scarf: thrifted | saddle shoes: Muffy’s | belt: thrifted | bracelets: thrifted | sunglasses: H&M

This outfit is a couple weekends old, but I thought I’d share it with you since I had the pictures sitting on my harddrive! I’ve worn this outfit (or variations on it) more times than I can count of late. It’s comfortable and works for just about any occasion—plus all the pieces I can easily wash (an upside when you’re a klutz like me!). For some odd reason too people seem to instantly see the 1940s inspiration behind the look, despite it being a bit of a mish-mash of things! I honestly have gotten more compliments on this outfit, which I always find rather humorous because it’s so darn simple… Just goes to show you it’s not the complicated looks that really catch people’s eye!

What is one of your favorite go-to outfits?

It really is darling – and I love the hair. Right now, my go-to items are pencil skirts and boots – oh how I love fall!

It’s a magical combination of pieces! Adding those adorable shoes to the jeans instantly shows their vintage roots, and your hairstyle brings everything together. I can’t imagine looking that cute and put together just wearing jeans and a tee!

I think this is a great outfit, Casey, and so doable and practical for me, as I’m sure it is for a lot of gals out there.

Hehe, you look gorgeous!

It reminds me (don’t know why:)) of Thelma and Louise movie – which I really like;))

The photos are so optimistic. It brings back summertime to my mind:)

As a girl who would easily live in skirts and dresses, I often forget how comfy pants can be. Those pants are so cute on you too- they whittle your waist. My 13 has been watching a movie set in the 70′s and announced “those high-waisted jeans RULE, I wish I could find some!” She’s right of course, and this outfit is just proves it!

I love this outfit!! The telephone cord purse is so cute, and your trousers are divine. You look like a ’40s starlet on her day off!

LOVE it.
Gotta say, that tee is just about perfect. So hard to find a nice tee that’s simple, looks put together, and still feminine.

Wow, such a nice look! You made those trousers yourself? They look so good! I can’t sew for the life of me! I love this look on you! It really fits well and you pull it off effortlessly. It’s so simple but classic and stylish!

Lovely outfit, Casey! I liked your hair long before, but I really think that length is just perfect for the vintage look! With the big curls you look straight out of the 40s! And I love the wide-legged pants, too.

Happy sewing,

I love this look. Its so fun and stylish at the same time. I really need to find some trousers that suit me. I think I would have less trouble finding a to-go outfit.

I love this look. It’s so much more stylish than that of today’s fashions. I like the addition of the scarf in your hair, and those curls – fabulous! How do you do them?

Love the outfit, you look adorable! Maybe what people see is the silhuette and the details. I’ve noticed that I get much more compliments when I do my hair, even if it’s just curling it with hot rolls. A hair-do and a nice purse/handbag seems to catch the eye, esp when combined with a vintage look.
Oh yes, I def have a go to outfit: blue skirt, t-shirt and cardigan. All the year! =) Well, in summer it’s cotton skirts and in winter a wool skirt.
