You probably already know Sarah Louise from her vintage shop that advertises on Elegant Musings. But she’s a multi-talented gal and also has a shop full of handcrafted accessories! Branch Bound is filled with beautiful, delicate pieces that make me think of late-afternoon weddings in June, or dinners with your best friend by the ocean. Many are made of lace, which I just love! Sarah Louise is offering a lucky someone one of her beautiful bird trio necklaces in silver, called the “Zipporah”. Isn’t it beautiful? I think it would look equally stunning whether you’re wearing an off the shoulder floral dress or with a pretty white tshirt! Here is what Sarah Louise had to say about her favorite birthday things!

Sunni of The Cupcake Goddess (a fantastic sewing blog!) is offering one very lucky gal (or guy!) a complete pressing set from her shop! Proper pressing tools is one of the few things that I think are essential in every sewing toolbox. Sunni is offering a set with a pressing ham, seam roll and one of her adorable pincushions. Best yet, she’ll be working with the winner to select a custom fabric for your set! (So you won’t be getting the exact set shown here; you’ll be personalizing it yourself.) How fun is that? Sunni also gave me some fun answers to my birthday-themed questions:

As of today I am one week away from my birthday (and turning 26!). Those of you who have been following me for a bit may remember that I like to do giveaways around my birthday, as it spreads the fun and celebration around for everyone else. I’m very excited about this particular birthday, because I have teamed up with some of my favorite independent shop owners to bring you a full week of giveaways!. Thats right: 7 entire days of fun “presents” you can enter to win. So instead of me getting gifts, it could be you! Are you excited yet? (I know I am–I’ve had the worst time keeping this one under wraps the past couple weeks!)
Today’s first giveaway is from my friend Quincy’s lovely vintage shop. She is offering a beautiful vintage wicker purse that would be perfect for summertime! I can see this with a cute skirt and top ensemble, or of course the quintessential summertime piece: a sundress! Regardless, a vintage wicker purse such as this is one of those things I consider a “wardrobe staple” and use the one I have constantly during the warmer months. This one has an adorable printed lining too–which makes it even more special! If you’d like to enter, be sure to read the rules below.
As part of the birthday giveaway, I’ve asked each participant a set of questions that have a birthday theme! Here’s what Quincy had to say:
Quincy has also kindly offered 25% off for the 48 hours this giveaway is open to Elegant Musings readers! So be sure to stop be and use the code SpringFever during checkout. Be sure to check out her Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr (one of my favorites) too!
Giveaway is open to US readers only.

I don’t know what it is about this braid configuration, but it seems like the perfect ‘do for a day you’re wearing a pretty sundress and off on a picnic! Which I think is something I need to put on my summer to-do list. This hairstyle may look familiar to those who watched the Romantic Braided Updo video; it’s a similar style and essentially a variation on that. However, I got a lot of requests after sporting this ‘do a few times in outfit photos, so I hope you’ll enjoy! (Just remember to tuck all the ends in… I missed a couple! Yikes!)
I also posted an everyday, vintage inspired make up tutorial last week on my YouTube channel as well. I’m sure you’ve already seen it, but if not I’ve added it below. I have gotten many, many emails from busy moms and students pressed for time, wondering what I consider the “essentials” for a vintage make up look. This video includes the few steps and products that I think are key for conveying that retro/vintage face, without spending loads of time on applying products. It’s also the look I sport most days–as much as I love playing with makeup, I don’t always have the time!
I hope you enjoy these! I’ve been recording a few new tutorials here and there the past week as I finally got my video camera up and working and have access to a newer version of my editing program. It’s making things about a hundred times easier and my inclination to actually record these has shot through the roof! lol. I’ll be posting some more throughout the next month, including a little crafty how-to (hopefully!).
What hairstyles have been catching your eye lately? If you have found any pictures that are inspiring you, I’d love to see them!
