Very Cute! I have thick hair too. When I do pin-curls I usually let it dry quite a lot, maybe even use the hairdryer a little, and then I curl it (using mostly stand up curls) put on a head scarf and sleep on it. I have never tried setting lotion, and I don't seem to need any either. However, I do need to put the curls back up every night if I want them to last. But I just do about 7 big random curls...My hair is about 8" at it's longest point, and cut pretty much like a middy. Good luck experimenting! :)

Your hair looks lovely! I was going to cut my hair, but since it was a stress induced urge to cut my friends talked me out of it. I merely cut my bangs instead. Seeing your hair makes me want to cut a bit of my length now :)

you look lovely darling. for pin curls i recommend you use hot rollers. they are very good for thick hair and last very long and only takes about 20 minutes. just make sure you put them on very tight or else you wont get the right pin curl look.
