My apologies for lack of posting the past couple days; I managed to catch a nasty cold. Rather than writing a few rambling posts that would probably make no sense, I took a small break. I’m still sick, but thankfully can put a sentence together with some comprehension. lol!

- A fun blog chronically one gal’s challenge to sew weekly and create a wardrobe of self-made clothes by the end of 2010!
- A great article on doing vintage makeup looks for darker skintones.
- A delightful gallery of miniature copies of Madeliene Vionnet’s designs.
- An absolutely gorgeous window display of old photographs!
- How to choose a flattering hat.
This week’s vintage image isn’t the usual pretty fashion picture, but rather something that is not only fun to look at, but shows the ingenuity of 40s styles. I just love the idea of livening up a plain shirtwaist dress with an apron and snazzy buttons–how fun is that?!

What are your plans for this weekend? I’m really excited: we’re starting our swing dance classes (hopefully… we got an email about the class being canceled if the registration quota wasn’t met. I hope not!). I cannot wait to try my feet (lol!) at swing dancing! Hope you all have a lovely weekend, friends!

My plans are not that exiting. Trying to find out how to survive in a Swedish ice-desert as I´ll go on vacation in 2 weeks
I too am looking at Swing dancing! I already West Coast Swing and Jive but I think it’s time to learn Lindy. You will love it, it is soooo addictive, and of course, a fantastic work out. I hope you class goes ahead.
Those little birds are adorable!
Thanks for the shout-out, darling. Hope you’re on the mend …
You’ll love swing dancing! I’ve been doing it off and on for years and love it! It’s my new years resoluation to drag my poor boyfriend to the class every week! He never wants to go but loves it when he’s there!
So sorry you’be been under the weather.
Hope you are feeling much better and you and the hubby enjoy your dance class. What a fun thing to do together. Looks like cleaning and sewing for me this weekend. Can’t wait to look at your links. Thanks a bunch.

Once I settle down, I’m planning to check out some of the links you’ve listed here, but that may take a while. I even shouted into you sister to pull your site up and take a look at them!!!

I hope you get better and just in time for your swing dance class too! What fun! I took a college ballroom dance class in high school and had so much and its such great exercise too. Best of luck!
Oh wow. I really like the Tu-tu idea.
If I wouldn’t look like one of the dancing hippos from Fantasia I’d totally be all over that idea.
Im sorry you’re ill
. I’ve been down for 4 days with the stomach flu. Thank goodness it held off until my Holiday company went home.
The swing dancing lessons sound great!
Good luck with your class!! It sounds so fun, I hope it won’t be canceled!

your post is inspirational as always, something i look forward to on fridays. i love that blog from the gal sewing up her wardrobe – it’s very ambitious and looks like she’s making some beautiful things!
Aww, I hope you feel better!
I love the links you choose this week, they are very interesting.
I do hope you feel better! BTW David and I got engaged, I plan to stalk the wedding section of your blog because I loved your wedding. Ours will also be on a budget, so any advice, feel free to throw it my way
Swing dancing is SO much fun, you’ll love it. Are you doing lindy hop? Lindy is my fav…look into Balboa as well, it is close and sweet, plus great for crowded dance floor when you can’t swing out! I’m now learning Blues aswell! I’ve been dancing for a while now and have just got home from a Lindy Hop camp, which was the most have i think i have EVER had, let me just say that the swing community alone is addictive, it takes a special type of person to replicate times of yesterday and not be bothered what people think…especially guys! Have fun, there is something so satisfying for lovers of vintage to be able to get up and dance to the tunes that they love…I can guarantee you’ll be hooked!!
Oh I’m sorry your sick! It’s terrible when your the kind of person who always likes to do something, especially creative, and you just don’t have the energy. I’m sure you’ll be up and dancing soon enough!
Thanks for including my pictures post! Glad you liked it
xoxo
