  • 01. The oversized flowers pinned to the model’s cardigan add a lot of panache to the otherwise classic look.[image.]
  • 02. I love the coat that the woman is wearing in this photo! [image.]
  • 03. Maybe it’s her sweet smile, the flowers in her hair, or wondering what the rest of her outfit looked like, but I adore this image! [image.]
  • 04. Short coat with tailored details? Check. Cute, yet utterly practical dress? Double check. [image.]
  • 05. I keep coming back to this illustration; I can’t help but think how fun it would be to do a geometric cut out at the neckline with a peek of another color! [image.]

Excuse the lack of an exciting post today–I’m decidedly having one of those days. So rather than berate myself over the fact that I forgot to take pictures yesterday (when it was sunny!) of a project nearing the exciting stage of completion and neglect to post anything, here are some pictures that have caught my fancy of late!

  • 06. I love this delightful headband/hat idea with the loopy flowers! Can’t you just see this in a pretty, low pile velvet for winter? [image.]
  • 07. The coat, the mile-high shoes–love! [unknown source.]
  • 08. A jaunty color combination with an even snappier, military inspired braid work. So fun! [image.]
  • 09. I have decided I just have a preoccupation with surplice bodices right now. Just about every image sporting this style blouse has been jumping out at me! [image.]

What has been inspiring you, friends? Please do share–I’m always curious to know what is sparking your imagination!

Tomorrow, hopefully, there will be a knitting progress post! Much excitement!

NY & Co is actually selling a sweater right now that looks like that first picture- the one with the flowers on the shoulder.

I love that a lot of the stores are picking up the vintage-feel…of course I always love authentic vintage but sometimes it’s hard to find what you’re looking for, and it’s nice to be able to pick up some of the trend pieces for cheap!

Such beautiful, inspiring images. I just love picture #3, the girl has such cute hair and I too would love to see what the rest of her outfit looked like :) I really love the picture of the girl on the bicycle too. Thanks for sharing these! Hope you’re having a lovely weel!

The yellow top & blue skirt combo is punchy with color. I love the way it pops together.

I love that dress with the colourful cut-out. What a cute idea! I definitely will keep that in mind for a next dress.

Wow, even on days when you don’t feel on top of the world you are inspiring ;-)

This is why I love your blog, Casey. I’m such a forward-looker, and your inspirations nearly always come from the past … and such rich, varied inspirations they are!

Sadly, nothing is inspiring me at the moment. I guess it is sort of hard to be stylish and creative when you are wearing a housecoat and pyjamas for the fifth day in a row.

Gorgeous pictures though, thanks for sharing!

I love the colors of fall and then the red and green of decorations for the holidays. I feel like all the outfits I put on are so fun and so festive. I love the change of the leaves to the reds and golds of Christmas so it’s very inspiring. Just this time of the year can be a big inspiration to all.

I love, love, love the picture of the girl on the bicycle. I just love old bikes. My aunt has the most fabulous vintage yellow Schwinn that she let me ride all this summer, I based most of my summer outfits to match it! lol =)
Lately, I seem to be inspired by spectator style pumps… I found a fabulous pair at Goodwill that were too small, and ever since, I’ve been wanting a pair, and thinking of outfits that would go with them.

I don’t know if you have seen Yes Man (with Jim Carrey), but in the movie Zooey Deschanel is wearing the most amazing vintage coat! I thought I would share it with you! I found a good picture of it here: http://redlemonade.blogspot.com/2009/02/yes-please.html
