weekend snippets
[ cold snap. the weather called for layers and close toe shoes! ]
Our weekend was lovely–most of all the weather cooperated and turned out to be a delicious peek at proper fall weather! I spent Sunday afternoon roaming about with my camera in hand, taking snapshots of things I saw. I’ve been trying to document day-to-day life in photographs. Other bloggers who are perpetual shutterbugs inspire me to no end, and I would love nothing more than to make picking up the camera throughout the day–even to capture the little moments–a habit.
[ fire alarm. I love things that are bright red! ]
[ Spanish Moss grows in the trees all over. it looks so spooky blowing in the breeze. ]
[ gigantic leaves grow and fall right outside our building. each is about 1' across! ]
[ stump texture. I couldn't resist taking a shot of a tree stump that was covered with a green mold-like plant matter. ]
Speaking of some of blog reading, these are a few that I’ve been reading and enjoying quite a bit lately (in no particular order):

Great photos! I’m also really in awe of people who take pictures all the time – I just don’t have the stamina! I did ‘a pic a day’ for a month a while back, but I was happy when the month ended, I needed a little break. I’m going to be doing it again soon though.

Nice photos! I am very partial to the one of the fire alarm. It’s got a great perspective. I bet you are having fun with that camera. I know what you mean about keeping the camera close at hand. I’d like to start doing that myself. Sometimes there are some cute opportunities with The Boys, and I never have the camera close.

BTW – I spied those black leggins/tights. I just bought a pair last week at Ross. I finally stopped fighting the feeling, and got them. I can’t wait to wear them with that teal wool dress I’ve never worn.

I really like the picture of the spanish moss, it makes me want to lie in the grass, just looking at the blue sky, listening to my favorite jazz songs.
I feel that my picture-taking comes in waves, right now I constantley have to remind myself to take pictures =) -

Great photos, Casey; looks like you’re having fun! And it looks like it was a great day for taking photos!
I’ve just completed one year of daily photos and am continuing, for now. It does take time and isn’t easy to find new subjects and inspiration every day, especially with dark descending early. It is a break in my day sometimes (“I have to take a photo now”) and I appreciate the opportunity to be creative at least once a day. -

The weather has been beeeeeeeeautiful down her this weekend! I did a bit of the same…walked around outside taking pictures and enjoying the coolness, sat out on the dock and let myself get almost cold in the wind coming off the water, drove with my windows down…wonderful! If only it would last. Ah well, surely another front will come our way soon.
Your pictures are lovely. Is that a maple leaf? You are clearly father north than I am. Nothing but mangroves, palms, and Australian Pines around here (OK, not strictly true, but it seems that way sometimes. Love the Spanish Moss. It does have a beautifully spooky factor to it.
