Hurrah! Time for a giveaway! It’s been a long, long time since my last giveaway! I love doing giveaways–it’s a way I can say “thank you” to all of you, my dear and cherished readers. You bring such joy and fun into my life, it’s a tiny way for me to try and give back.

This giveaway is for a charming, vintage bag. It’s a piece I found at an antique store recently, and was going to hoard for myself, but I decided would be the perfect piece for a giveaway. The outside is a lovely floral velvet, and the inside is fully lined. This bag looks a smaller than it is–it can hold quite a bit! I really love the pretty floral against the texture of the fabric–it’s so gorgeous! (Full disclosure: since this bag is vintage, it isn’t perfect. It has a few small spots, and the frame sometimes squeaks a bit when you’re opening it. But otherwise, it’s got lots of use left. I wouldn’t giveaway anything I wouldn’t keep in my own closet!!!)
To enter: leave a comment here (one per person, please) about anything you’d like–the outfit you’d fashion around this bag, your favorite blog, just to say “hi”… whatever catches your fancy! The giveaway will be open until November 1, 2009 (Sunday) at midnight. I will randomly pick a winner and announce them Monday (Nov. 2). This giveaway will be open to everyone–you don’t have to live in the US to qualify. Good luck dear friends!

I think I’d pair it with burgundy, black, and ice blue in some sort of fashion! But there’s so many lovely colors in the print it’d be impossible not to match it with everything!

Hi Casey!
I think you are fabulous. I not-so-secretly want to be you!
Hi ! This bag is so wonderful, I would wear with it warm clothes. This bag makes me think of russian dolls…
Aaaah
I’d love to get a 500 Days of Summer dress… Like the blue one that Zooey wears. It’s spring here in Aus, so I can get away with it too!
That is an adorable bag! I absolutely love florals and velvet, what a great combination
That bag is adorable! I am completely velvet-obsessed at the moment – I would love a deep midnight blue pinafore dress to wear with a crisp white blouse… and that bag!
What a great giveaway! The bag is lovely. It would work perfectly with my new wool skirt.
Regards.
Oh gosh I would love to win this bag! Any bag is excellent – I especially if its unique and vintage. Yay! I hope I win.
And THANK YOU For being so kind as to give it away to a lucky someone!
Dear Casey,
Shortly I would like to learn sewing. Please keep up the good work for me. In anticipation of many more creative possibilities
first I would like to thank you for the fact that you brought my long lost creativity back into my life (I suffer from schizophrenia). Schizophrenia paralyzes each creativity. Therefore I had no more hobby for years. Since I read your blog I have again fun at manual work. I knit for the moment a scarf (soon finished).
Denise
PS: Please excuse possible errors because I’m from Germany
Ooo… I LOVE that bag! It would look so nice with a fall dress I’m making from a 1960′s pattern. Thanks for offering such a great giveaway!!!
What an adorable bag! I love fall florals. I’d carry it with comfy jeans and a romantic lacy blouse, bring a book, and go read in a coffee shop.
Oh my gosh, your giving away such a gorgeous bag, i wouldnt be able to part with it! I love its floral pattern.

Hello Casey ! I like your blog and watch it everyday ! This bag is really cute and could be a great item in my wardrobe ! (sorry if it’s hard to understand, I don’t speak english very well !)
Ooh, i’m a sucker for florals. Can’t live without em. ><
:D
I’ve been reading your blog for a while, but I think this is the first time I have commented. It’s a very addicting blog!
As a Florida girl who never gets to see Fall weather, that purse definitely looks like fall to me. I think it would look great with a corduroy pencil skirt!
this bag would be perfect for any winter outfit, i saw one that kinda of looked like the one you are offering and have been surching for one ever since!!
i would love to have this one
and your blog is ever so wonderful
hmm … so the giveaway ends on first of november. so I’ll tell you, what I’ll do that way.
I’ll be at my cousin’s house, because it’s her birthday that day and it’s a holiday, too, in germany (it’s a pity, it’s on the weekend, I could need some free days). and so we’ll have coffee and cake. I’m just about to start her birthday present. I’ll give her a self- painted shirt and because she wants to become a doctor one day, I’ll paint the inside of a body on it, in a comic way, not really realistic. I hope, she’ll like it.
I love that dress. When I first saw I thought it was a genuine 40s one! Such a good find. I love the 80s does 40s items, not only are they usually cheaper, but they’re usually machine washable and a bit heartier

Oh, that is such an adorable bag! It is so nice of you to be doing this giveaway, I’m excited
Hmmm, I’d wear a solid color dress, or skirt and shirt combo that brings out the colors in the bag.
Hi Casey! Cute bag…. I don’t have an outfit that comes to mind when I look at it…. but I certainly could come up with an outfit by the time Reading/MAAM WWII weekend rolls around in June….
You must make a trip up north for it!!
Blessings!
Hey there! I have been reading your blog for the past two weeks now (it is great!) and I am a little embarrassed that this is my first comment – on a giveaway. But that bag is just too lovely and I really need a bigger bag right now (I just have tiny ones and hardly any money right now).
Anyway: I would probably pair it with my favorite black vintage shorts, lace tights and a nice thrifted vest over a black shirt and my vintage lace up granny ankle booties (that I scored at a thrift store for 2€!). Ooooh…it would also match my dark green vintage velvet dress that I bought at the Salvation Army this summer…mh..
What a cute bag! I’d surely wear it with the growing collection of navy blue items in my closet.

I found your blog a couple of weeks ago via Jessica at What I Wore, and I just have to say: I LOVE IT! I am a huge fan of vintage and retro styles; reading your blog gives me inspiration for my own (sadly lacking) wardrobe. Thanks so much!
You are awesome. And adorable.
Hi! I came across your blog via a youtube video regarding your vintage haircut…I’m drooling with jealousy! I NEED THAT BOOK so I can trot down to my stylist and have her cut my hair the same way!
Anyway…fab bag, fab blog, fab girl…you and I would get along FABULOUSLY!!
Hi:
Love reading your blog. It’s really inspiring to get to know about 40and 50s…style. You are helping me with my own search of style
Love, Ainara
the outift i would wear this with:
my dark wash skinny jeans and a black sweater/turtleneck, these perfect rosey pink vintage-looking round toed heels, and my leaf green with white polkadott silk scarf around my neck. or maybe a yellow scarf.
I love your eye – i would never pick a lot of these things off the rack but they look great on you!
OHHH i love velvet! And this bag! Great giveaway!
I think i would team it with one of my Little Black Dresses, and navy tights! xx
That bag would totally dress up a plain coloured bag and with some red lippy (which goes with everything). I`m surprised you can let it go!
That bag must be mine. It matches my everyday jeans perfectly. Pick me pick me !
Kate
I love the purse! You’re so sweet to offer this in a giveaway!
I love love Velvet. This would go well with my navy blue sailor skirt and my oxfords I just purchased. BTW Love your blog I’m a graphic designer myself and love the retro/vintage design. I’m keeping my fingers crossed : )

Hi Casey,
I found your blog a few months ago and went back and read all your old posts! Thanks for sharing your love of vintage with the rest of us…I get my daily inspiration from your blog!
Stephanie
Oh it’s so beautiful! I love the mary poppins-ness of it… can’t you just see a hatstand & vintage standard lamp emerging from its floral depths? Gorgeous! x
This would be such a pretty way to brighten up the look of the obligatory Vancouver trench-coat!
This is a lovely romantic bag that I would pair with curly hair, a white comfy scarf and a vintage wine color dress. Oh, and the perfect shade of red lipstick.
I love the velvet! Velvet has really been catching my attention lately–perhaps because it’s so toasty looking. Green would go beautifully with this, or perhaps grey, or….
Oooh, 99 thoughts already. Gosh, well all I can say is FLAKE!! Tehee…and that that bag is truely gorgeous and will go oh so well with my Autumn outfits next year…
