Am I writing too much about my love of autumn? Please forgive me, but I think it’s literally taking up all my free brain space at the moment! haha! In the spirit of revamping my wardrobe a tiny bit for the season, I wanted to share a few things that are making the rounds in my closet right now.

First up is this lovely carpet bag. It’s gigantic–literally like a small piece of luggage! But I still carry it around like a purse (silly me). My mother in law spotted it at the Waterford Fair last year when we were visiting, listened to me wax poetic about carpet bags (and how I didn’t have one), and surprised me with this lovely piece for Christmas! I didn’t use it a whole lot last winter, but lately it’s been in almost constant use.

Jeweled rings. I spotted some gorgeous (and pricey!) examples in the newest issue of Lula, and promptly set about finding my own, wallet friendly version. I found this at Pier 1 for about $4. (I actually got two, but the flower on the other popped off the ring. I just need to glue it back!) I go back and forth about wearing big rings, mostly because they tend to get caught in my hair. But this is just the thing to add a bit of glitz to any outfit. Again, it’s been in pretty constant rotation the last few weeks.

Finally, what “favored closet items” list would be complete without shoes? I have been searching high and low for some suede-upper shoes that I liked and could afford. On a whim, I stopped in Marshall’s (a department store discount place) this past weekend and found these. They’re the Madden Girl brand (which we know I already love), and fit the bill for black, suede shoes with a bit of an attitude. Sailor Husband doesn’t get the open toe though… hehe! I love the ruffle detail and the fact these are like no other shoe in my closet. Which is a good thing, because I have a tendency to keep buying the same style shoe over and over again! lol.

What wardrobe things are you enamored with right now??? Do spill the beans!
Oh! I must tell you about something I am really excited for… a little giveaway tomorrow! Keep your eyes open for the post–it’s been too long since I did a giveaway, and this one is really fun!

I LOVE THAT CARPET BAG!!!!!! Oh my golly – I have got to find something……maybe I can find one of those vintage handbags when we go shopping. Serious envy here!
Mom
Those shoes are DIVINE! (You knew I’d hone in on those, didn’t ya?)
I agree to previos coment! I LOVE carpetbags! I´d love to find one so I will really look like Miss Marple havin my knitting in it
I especially love your as I always loved green!
Love that bag! Those shoes are fantastic too. I’m crazy about my 40s dresses and boots, but you knew that already, lol! ;o)
That carpetbag is so lovely! Lately I’ve been obsessed with velvet pieces; I recently acquired three velvet dresses (all 1960s) and a silk velvet purple 1940s jacket/tunic with the greatest details.
Casey those shoes are gorgeous!! I love the ruffles and have a weakness for open toes.
I love the shoes! Gotta have open toe to expose the lovely tights
I love all your items, especially the carpet bag! I’ve been wanting one for awhile, so I finally gave up and sewed one for myself.
I do love that carpet bag! As for the shoes, yes I could definitely see those in my closet. The husband is so lucky I didn’t stray over into the shoe section when I went to Marshall’s last week.
I posted on my blog my wish list in sweaters. I am longing for new ones since the “bleach incident” Never trust a teenager around a bottle of bleach. Things get ugly FAST! I am trying to give my husband subtle hints on what I want for Yule. Let’s see if he gets it. LOL!
That carpet bag is gorgeous, and so perfect for autumn! You could even hide a few pilfered autumn apples in it … you know, if you were that way inclined.
Your photos are look exceptionally awesome lately Casey! Fabulous!
Very much like your bag!
I LUV Cashmere sweaters for Autumn and today it was actually chilly enough to wear one!!
But my love for the Brits always comes out in Autumn, so tweeds are a favorite…and today I bought a brand new blue tartan wool Pendelton skirt at the thrift store for $2!! LOVE Autumn…you could never talk to much about it for me!
Those shoes are perfect! My coat, obviously, and I don’t know if it counts, but my ipod.
Oh! I recently bought the same shoes at Marshall’s and I’m absolutely in love with them! I call them my gothic Marie Antoinette shoes. Aren’t they divine? I’ve been wearing mine constantly since I got them. I love that when I wear them I can be not quite so short next to my 6’3″ husband.
Nevermind the clothes… what about the camera?! I want to know more. But really, the shoes are lovely!

What lovely shoes!!! I also have a tendancy on buying the same style shoes, wedges are my weak link. But lately I have been dying for boots!! Cant stop thinking about them!
Love the bag and the ring looks like such a perfect way to sparkle up an outfit!
I have a thing for cropped cardis – not sure why – but I have one in every color and sleeve-length!
Lately I’ve been on a skirt kick (I’m usually a denim gal) and to coincide with that I’ve been scooping up colorful tights to wear with any kind of shoe, but open toe especially. (I’m drooling over yours lol!) and colorful belts to spice up my generally neutral wardrobe.
Great post!
Ooh! I have been obsessed the past few days with finding the perfect union jack shirt and/or dress! I dunno if it has somthing to do with my new love for Brit tv or if the Halloween season has reignited my wish to be a Spice Girl. I always did love Ginger. Girl power!!!
That carpet bag is so gorgeous! I like having big bags so I can carry around everything I want to
Great shoes, and I love that camera, so amazing.
I’m super excited about the giveaway, can’t wait to see what it is
Everything is fabulous !
I love your bag! The colour is gorgeous.
I still cant part with my little brown 80′s boots. Don’t think I ever will! haha
Nice blog
x
I have been looking for a flower ring like that.
