What is a great way to spend a stormy summer afternoon? Prep for some new sewing projects, of course! Amidst the claps of thunder and torrential downpours, I was happily occupied (and dry!) cutting out pieces for a few bags I’m making from this 1940s project booklet I bought a few months ago. My friend D. is coming over tomorrow for an afternoon of sewing (and lots of chatting, I’m sure!), so I needed something that I could work on. I can’t wait to make this sweet, ruffled handbag up! It’s promising to be a cutie!

Oh, I love your fabric choice!! I’m obsessed with checks, especially black and white checks. I can’t wait to see the finished bag!!
Hurrah for thunderstorms! They’re so atmospheric, and ideal for an evening of tea-drinking, reading… and sewing of course! I’ve been wanting a good thunderstorm here, but no luck so far.
That fabric you chose is delicious. Like Maria, I adore checks.
I love that fabric, can’t wait to see the finished product!
Sounds like a great plan! let us see the result..
I agree! I want to see the results of this project.
can I take sewing lessons from you, please?
excellent wide brown gingham choice!
