“real” vintage fashion

I normally try not to re-post links that others have already publicized on their blog, but when I saw the link to What We Wore over at the lovely Betsy’s blog, I couldn’t resist! I adore old photographs; beyond the clothes and interest in how people wore the trends of the day, I find it equally compelling to study expressions and poses, wondering what sort of people they were. I hope you’ll enjoy this link–it’s definitely worth spending a little bit of your afternoon browsing through!

I completely agree – I love looking not only at the clothes wear in old photos, but how they’re worn, the people’s expressions, and the context of the clothes. So interesting!

I love that second picture – especially the inscription “this is Fry’s girl”. How sweet is that?

Hi Casey, it may be just me but I was browsing old photos on Flickr the other day and I came across a lady that I think looks very similar to you! I’ve just done a post and it’s included in a collage if you’d like to take a look.

Great photos like that can make “smell” the past !

Glorious finds! I always wonder, who are these people? Do they still have family? Do they know these pictures are floating around somewhere or in a bin at a flea market?

Marie July 3, 2009 at 03:17

I love old photographs too. They are little snippets of someone’s life frozen in time.

Thanks for sharing these.

Have a happy Friday!

Love old photographs too! I could stare at them for hours. Can’t help but look at the facial expressions – wonder what was going on, what were they thinking? Great blog, glad to have found you!
