Hello, friends! I hope you all had a fantastic weekend; I’m sorry I didn’t post on Friday (despite having a post ready to go!). I had quite forgotten that we had a beach party to attend that day–I never did get online to blog this weekend! We ended up spending two days at the beaches, including meeting some friends on Saturday and having a fun cookout on the beach. I also got to see my first white sand beach, which was utterly gorgeous and exciting! I definitely am in love with the Florida beaches. Although I forgot how exhausting being out in the sun and heat can be for me, so I pretty much slept most of Sunday. hehe!

Here are a few photos of our weekend, including all the ocean critters I spotted on the beach, and a sneak preview of my 1940s shorts that I made. (More on that tomorrow–promise!)
TTFN, dears!

Ach, the shorts are FAB! Hope you’re happy with them?
Oh, those shorts are adorable! You should show us the yellow version too! How inspiring, I love the beach, but never look as adorable as you do
What gorgeous sand! And I’m the same way when I spend time out in the sun – I sleep like a baby!
You’re adorable! looks like you saw plenty of cool critters too.
You look so cute, and a beach party sounds like so much fun! Oooh, and that statue of War’s End Kiss is beautiful! I have that photo hanging in my livingroom!
Glad you enjoyed yourself!!! My brothers & mom have now been all over the world and say the BEST beaches are truly in Florida. My hubby even lived in Hawaii for a time when he was young…and says the beaches here are better.
You were adorable…as always!
I absolutely love the shorts! I have a pattern with shorts that look similar to those and now I really want to make them! :]
Those are some crazy sea creatures!! You look wonderful in your shorts!!
how adorable
! loving those shorts, especially with the little belt <3!
Casey, I’ve been reading your blog for some time, but this is my first time commenting (too shy? too little time?). I wanted to let you know that this is one of my favourite visits in the blogging world. Not only are you a darling, with your awesome sense of vintage style, but your sweet and beautiful manners and your appreciation of all the little and dearest things in life are so wonderful to encounter. Your blog is such a refreshing place, and I wanted to thank you for that.
And I love your outfit today! If only it would get warm enough out here in California to enjoy the beaches and water.
The shorts look great! Can’t wait to hear more about them tomorrow!
You look great. I love beaches, but there aren’t any nice ones in London.
You look so pretty! I love the shorts. So happy to hear you got a chance to see some white-sanded beaches – they are lovely, aren’t they? I spent my weekend at the beach, too, just a little further up in Georgia, and I must confess that I kept thinking of that wonderful 1940s midriff top you made recently and wishing I had made one as well for running about in the sun!
Cute – the shorts and the critters! Tell me about that last photo.
Mom
oooh, i just LOVE that outfit! inspires me to wear my vintage cut shorts tomorrow too!
You went to the beach!!!
Oh dear, you must have been the most fashionable person there by a longshot. I always say the same thing when I comment here, but you were just made for ’40s looks . . . the shorts and everything! So adorable.
Oh, you pull them off so well…I feel so weird wearing highwaisted shorts. I need to get over that.
a. your shorts are darling
b. where is that statue?
what a beautiful day! i love the patchy green grass on the beach, it makes me think of the east coast… even though i’ve never been to the atlantic shore.
your outfit is really cute and beachy!
