Giveaway #3: Embellishment Kit & Vintage Sewing Book

I have so many sweet comments every time I post a refashioned or embellished t-shirt, that I thought it would be fun to put together a little kit of my favorite elements so you can do the same! Included is a variety of vintage laces, rick-rack, buttons, seam binding, and a length of vintage fabric (click here for a close-up). I’ve included a little page of tshirt embellishment inspirations (not pictured), as well as a vintage sewing booklet in case you need to brush up on your hand stitching (or not… vintage sewing books are just fun to look at!). All you have to supply is the garment, needle and thread, and imagination!

The fine print: Enter this giveaway by leaving a comment on this post between now and Sunday, May 3, 2009 (entry deadline is 12am, EST). Be sure to include your name and email address (fill in the comment form; your email will not be published) to make your entry valid! Please, one entry per person, per giveaway! One (unique) winner for each giveaway will be drawn at random and announced on Monday, May 4, 2009. Winners will be notified via email. International entries welcome!

Laura May 1, 2009 at 13:47

Wow — this pile of goodies makes me drool!

reilly May 1, 2009 at 13:48

Hi Casey! I have to say, my heart nearly jumped out of my chest when I saw what you were offering up.

But, I don’t sew. Not yet, at least! I start a four-part class next Monday and I’m sure I’ll be a slave to my sewing machine in no time. I’m so excited to start buying vintage patterns to make for myself, and to be able to hem or take in my clothing instead of taking it to the tailor. I can imagine making the cutest shirt out of that fabric! Anyone who wins this giveaway or any of the others is going to be one happy miss – thank you and happy birthday!

Eithne May 1, 2009 at 14:06

this is a fantastic giveaway!! Everything looks so cute.

Concha May 1, 2009 at 14:08

Hi Casey!

I love your blog! You are really inspiring with your fabulous clothes and choice of patterns and dresses. You have inspired me to try sewing clothes from vintage patterns!

I came across your blog through a hairdo video you posted on YouTube and now I visit almost everyday! :)

I would love to win this prize! Also I just want to say that I stumbled across your blog researching vintage hairstyles and am hoping one day to show up at work with some cute victory rolls to go with some retro-inspired clothing I bought. Now I visit everyday!

Hope you have a great birthday!

Wendy May 1, 2009 at 15:00

Wow, with a batch of goodies like that, I might finally be motivated to get crafting!

Sibylle May 1, 2009 at 15:06

I think this one’s my favourite as well. Thanks for taking the time, Casey!

Rebeca May 1, 2009 at 15:08

Yummy! Want want WANT! Laces and crocheting embellish clothes so much. And the sewing book is such a nice giveaway. I learnt most I know about knitting from my grandma, but I learnt the most sophisticated techniques from a book as well, “Knitting for Dummies”, maybe you have read it! Highly recommended! Anyway what I meant to say is that books are such a good guide for beginners. Thank you so much Casey! Hope randomness behaves nicely to me hehe…

Tanya May 1, 2009 at 15:20

Oooh, this is a GREAT giveaway! I’m getting into sewing again and admire what you do to clothing. I hope to one day be as good as you!

juliette May 1, 2009 at 16:11

This is amazing stuff! Love your blog and all the inspiration I get from it. Happy Birthday to you from Austria, Stephanie (Love it that you welcome international entries!)

Sara May 1, 2009 at 17:27

I think that you should have a clause in the fine print of this one that the winner has to send you photos of a finished project. How fun would that be?

NoirGirl May 1, 2009 at 18:46

This is so exciting! Such a lovely idea! I love all your refashioned t-shirts, and actually am determined to fix some up for myself this summer, so I’m all for this! :)
