Miss Bumble Bee! That’s how I will forever think of this outfit. lol. Had another dratted appointment with the doctor yesterday (I swear I’ve been to the doctor’s office more in the past 6 months than I have in 6 years!), so I wanted to wear something cheery and bright to offset the fact that I rather hate going. I actually wore this Tuesday as well, but I liked it so much, I did something I rarely do and wore it again the next day! hehe.

Yes, that is a fish hanging on the wall behind me. It’s Sailor Husbands from when his ship went on deployment several years ago. He bought it at one of the stateside ports they stopped in before going overseas. My mother in law told me that if I wanted to marry her son, I had to take the fish–which was being stored in her garage–and actually hang it in our apartment! hehe! So it’s now in our family room, over top one of the bookcases. Goes well with my eclectic/curiosity shoppe style decorating!

What outfits or particular garments have been adding some delight to your daily outfits this week? Bonus points for photos!

None. I’m a plus size gal and finding even patterns for vintage repro is difficult. Ever hopeful though!

I would wear that outfit two days in a row too! I also love how each piece has a little story :)

Oh…this is such a lovely outfit! It’s amazing how we’ve been going threw such similar situations! Doctors, doctors and more doctors and being newlyweds…geezz! I’m heading to Maryland Saturday, so hopefully getting out of here helps. My hubby has to keep convincing me I need to leave because I’ve been sick a whole YEAR! Oh well…

I hope your appointment goes well!

Oh yes…what makes me happy…a dress that I call my “June Carter Dress” hehe. I’ll put pic’s on my blogs soon :o )

That skirt is FAAAANTASTIC!

Very cute!

Very nice! I like the mix of colors. I wore a pretty white dress for Memorial Day (http://kaleidoscopicrefrains.blogspot.com/2009/05/memorial-day-party-dress.html) that made me feel lovely.

I hope your appointment went well!

Adorable outfit! I love the little yellow skirt. I so agree about dressing up to go to the doctor. It somehow makes a not-so-nice thing seem not SO terribly bad, especially when the nurses make a fuss over how nice you look. ;)

This week, I rediscovered a wonderful electric blue cotton 1950s dress that somehow managed to sit in my closet for about two years without being worn. (I forgot I had it!) I can’t stop wearing it now! It has such a wonderful shape – full skirt, short little cap sleeves, and a wide neckline. I think it’s going to turn out to be one of my summer favourites!

Oh, I love this – sunshine yellow and stripes – this will definitely be inspiring me over the weekend!

My biggest fashion delight at the moment is the new tattoo on my left foot (http://www.flickr.com/photos/belladinonna/3563277121/) – although because it’s still fairly new I can’t wear any tights or shoes that will rub it – which in London in May is a bit of a challenge! Ah well…

I love that shirt! I’ve been looking for a nice black (or navy) and white striped shirt, but I haven’t had any luck.

I bought two new sundresses that I am completely in love with this week. (Now that I look at them together, they’re in a similar vein; apparently, I’m digging chevron stripes and a muted color palette!):

This vintage 1950′s sundress from ebay: http://www.flickr.com/photos/40023367@N00/3572912209/
And this casual Urban Outfitters dress: http://www.flickr.com/photos/40023367@N00/3572912143/in/set-72157616481913000/

It’s starting to get really balmy here in Pennsylvania, so I’m all about simple, casual sundresses lately. :)

Adorable outfit, I love how you paired the striped top with yellow instead of the usual red, it’s much more subtle.
My favorite outfit of the week was my red Trixie dress by Trashy Diva paired with the red shoes that were included in your last Flickr favorites.

I wore this Monday to go to my last sewing class, but it turned out to be canceled!

Wow it’s been a while since I’ve been to Gabriel Brothers! So is the bracelet from when you lived in Virginia?

So cute!! Blue and yellow is one of my favorite color combinations, and I love the nautical/French charm of a blue and white striped top- always chic ; ) Beautiful job on the shirt refashioning, I must give that a try.
What’s making me happy is a dress I just bought at a great Memorial Day thrift sale that I’m looking forward to refashioning. Right now it’s a full-length 80s dress but with a few tweaks it will (hopefully) be an adorable 1930s-style dress!

Casey, you are cuteness. It looks like the fish is whispering something in your ear. Hehe. :D

Marianne May 29, 2009 at 05:07

Fantastic, I love the skirt – you are very talented!

NoirGirl May 29, 2009 at 11:55

What a cheerful outfit! I love the bumblebee look.

The fish story is so cute. It actually does work with the rest of your decor. :)

For my fashion inspiration this week, I was channeling Shirley Temple in the Bachelor and the Bobby Soxer. I tied my hair up with a lovely silk scarf and let the ends fall over my shoulder. It made my whole day, even when it started pouring rain..

Terribly sorry to hear you’re not feeling well! I do hope it all gets better soon.

Fabulous! I can just see us taking tea down at a little cafe on the pier together. My outfit of delight this week has been getting out my lumber jack skirt for winter again. Photos to come later on that one.

So cute! I love the skirt!
