style inspiration – gene tierney

One of my all-time favorite films in the 1944 film noir classic Laura. The first time I saw the movie (many years ago), I became enchanted with the lead actress, Gene Tierney; she looked so elegant and poised–the way I always dreamt of looking! Alas, I don’t look a bit like her (and lacking quite a bit of natural poise and grace; I’m a confirmed klutz), but I do love her on and off-screen style. Inspiring indeed!

(Gene is known for her dark tresses–always wondered what she would look like blond? Check out this photo!)

Lovely style icon! I like her better brunette, but the blonde doesn’t look too shabby either =] Hmm…actually, your smile kind of reminds me of hers! Mainly the bottom left photograph in the top cluster of pics. Just a thought, haha. Have a splendid day!!

Gene Tierney seems to be a lovely actress! I think your hair looks like hers when you curl it (only that you have not that dark colour).

When I look at her (and other 1940′s-actresses), I have always caught myself wondering about how on earth they get the perfect skin! Some of them, I presume, are very young, but they have not even a single spot! Gene’s skin is perfect! Maybe they used a special product? I would certainly love to have that.

Man, I have got to copy that hair-do she has going in the blonde photo. I like the victory roll in the bangs.

Her face was perfection. The blonde photo seems very odd, it makes her seem like a typical starlet. I def prefer the dark hair.

Casey, how can you say that? Look at the resemblance between her bottom left picture and yours in the sidebar! I love how the poses are so similar. :)

She certainly made a lovely blond! I hadn’t seen that photograph before. Thank you for sharing!

Great montages! I love Gene Tierney; I’ve been planning on doing a painting of her for a while; though I’m definitely going with the scene in Leave Her to Heaven where she has those great sunglasses & bright red lips!

What a beauty. I do love her hair, both dark and light. Aaaaaand, I’m in love with the hats. Oh the hats.

And the cute little suspender pants/overalls. I wonder what color they were….

Wow, I love Gene Tierney! She’s so gorgeous! She was wonderfully horrible in “Leave Her to Heaven”, though I enjoyed her in “Laura” equally as much. She looks gorgeous as a blonde! Too bad she didn’t try out that look as often.

I never say Gene Tierney as a blonde either– she is gorgeous! I, too, wish she had done much more work as a platinum blonde.
