Hello dolls! It’s Friday already again… where is the time going to? I feel like I always get to the end of the week and haven’t even begun to post about all the things I had in mind on Monday. lol! I will keep this short and sweet as I have a packed schedule today, but didn’t want you all to miss the weekly links and Flickr inspiration! Enjoy and have a fantastic weekend!
Sarai wrote an excellent post on her business and making it work
One of my all-time favorite films in the 1944 film noir classic Laura. The first time I saw the movie (many years ago), I became enchanted with the lead actress, Gene Tierney; she looked so elegant and poised–the way I always dreamt of looking! Alas, I don’t look a bit like her (and lacking quite a bit of natural poise and grace; I’m a confirmed klutz), but I do love her on and off-screen style. Inspiring indeed!

(Gene is known for her dark tresses–always wondered what she would look like blond? Check out this photo!)
I had one of those annoying revelations last night about my current knitting project. The yarn I was using (and determined to use) just wasn’t the right gauge. No matter how much I wished, pleaded and tried to make it work. Silly me for even trying, I guess. lol. Looks like a trip to the crafty store this weekend is in order for some more suitable fiber! So instead of my intended post (on snoods and fun stuff), here is a quick little project just in time for some springtime organizing!
I have loads of belts. Even after whittling down my collection before I moved, I still managed to hold on to quite a few. To be honest, however, I haven’t been terribly good about storing and organizing them–they’ve been looped over various hangers for awhile. Which I know is quite bad for the leather. So in an effort to be more “grown up” about organizing my closet (and not having them collectively slide off the hanger into a heap on my closet floor!), I came up with a simple and inexpensive way to organize them all.
I am so excited to announce something I’ve been working on for the past month: I will now be offering a limited number of sponsor spots per month! Thanks to your lovely feedback earlier this year, I decided to go ahead and give offering ad space on my blog a try. I think it’s going to be an excellent way to introduce you to new shops and sites that have a similar aesthetic to this blog. If you happen to own a shop, business, or website you’d like to advertise, be sure to pop over to my sponsorship page here for particulars.
Hello dear friends! I hope you had a wonderful weekend. We just relaxed, watched some movies we picked up at the library, we hung out with our own Easter Bunny, I knit, and Sailor Husband cooked up the most delicious pork ribs on the grill! I do have to admit that it didn’t feel quite like Easter yesterday–the weather was far too warm (I’m used to it being quite cool over this holiday). But the warmth afforded me some time to sit on the patio and knit something I’ve been meaning to do for a long time!
I recently started working on a backlog of YouTube video requests, including one on how I do my eyeliner. My video is below, but I’ve also linked to several other videos that are super helpful! I’ve picked up a couple new tips from just watching them! I daresay that eyeliner is my favorite cosmetics (besides mascara and lipgloss) because it really transforms a look with just a swipe of color!
So, I’m terribly curious: if you wear eyeliner (even just occasionally), what is your favorite brand and why? Mine is definitely the Mary Kay liquid liner (although I used a gel liner from Coastal Scents in the video). That one has always served me well through the heat of summer!
