on a roll

04.30.09 {on a roll!}

I had to share this little variation on the more elaborate style I did last week! My hair was not cooperating this morning, so this was the easiest way to deal with it. The front roll was just pinned to the side, and the sides were smoothed back and pinned in place. The bottom is just left curly. It’s also slightly late 40s, which fits well from this dress I made last year.

Finally, another silly-Casey pose. Wearing my favorite apron I made as a teenager from a mid 1930s pattern!

OMG! I HAVE that fabric!! Heather Bailey right? Or maybe not… don’t quite remember. I never would have thought to use it for a dress, but I must say, you can make it work and then you can make it work.

You were just made for ’40s hairstyles and clothes!! I can’t believe how cute that dress is . . . you ought to set up a shop selling these dresses you make–it’d be a hit!!!

love the dress & apron!!! do you use vintage patterns to sew them? or do you make your own? (i love to sew, but seem to have a hard time finding good patterns… perhaps i’m just not looking hard enought though!)
