sixties living

I know I promised pictures of my thrift finds, but I didn’t get it done (the kitchen had to be cleaned instead!). But I did manage to hem some cute pants I thrifted last week! They just screamed late 50s/early 60s to me on the rack (though they are not vintage), plus they were only $2.50. So they came home, happily fit, and I decided to shorten them into a more summer-appropriate length. I’m not usually a pants girl, but I rather love these! I went a little all-out today with the look: straightened my hair (hadn’t done that in years), did a 60s pouf and cat-eye makeup. Too fun!

Evidence I take too many photos; see the rest here!

Long time reader, first time poster (to you new blog, anyway). This is such a cute and springy outfit, and makes me dream of 60s films.

Haha you look adorable! The pants are very 60s indeed, and I love how you did your hair and makeup quite 60s-like! Actually the print of the pants reminds me of soft flannel pajamas.

Your hair looks beautiful and I love your eye makeup. The pants look really comfortable!

Ooh, this is a very different Casey and I love it :) The hair looks amazing and your makeup is just perfect!!

I love the cat eye style eyeliner. I’ve been doing my eyes like that since I was like 17. (I’m 27 now) and it goes with my style. I like your hair. I’ve try to do it like that but it never comes out nice. Maybe you should do a tutorial??

What brand of liquid eyeliner do you use?

I love those! I have been looking for vintage-y capris everywhere and have yet to find some. I think I may just have to buy a pattern and FINALLY try my hand at pants (that aren’t elasticized bloomers).

I always think of you as a ’40s/’50s girl, but you look just as great with ’60s hair and makeup!!

So cute, but I barely recognized you!

Too cute! I love the flicky eyes and your hair too.

Oh, how cute the pants are! Love the make-up too, nice to see a different side of you as well. Variation can be so refreshing :)

Hi! I love the twist one on your photostream! Haha, you crack me up! If I had your figure, I’d take a thousand photos a day, too! LoL
And this may be old news to you, but did you kow the Library of Congress has a flickr set with your name all over it?

I’m not a big 60′s fan, but this outfit is so cute! The cat eye makeup is amazing. I love the cropped pants, too. I’ve had a little obsession w/ cropped pants lately. :)
