Saturday dawned and I had gotten really nervous about having my hair “chopped off”. I always do this, so it wasn’t the least bit surprising! But thankfully it went well, my stylist was fantastic and did an amazing job (she had no problems following the cutting diagrams I brought from 1940s Hairstyles), and the resulting cut is perfect for both modern and vintage styles.

It’s shorter than I’ve had my hair in years, but I’m really enjoying the length and lack of weight! lol. I set it in hot rollers yesterday morning, and the curl held up well throughout the day (even after driving around with the car windows down!). I’m eager to try a few pincurl sets (Aya has a wonderful video tutorial on pincurls) and keep playing with it. Certainly there are a few styles I have been doing lately that the shorter length does not allow for, but that isn’t a huge problem. I’m gonna have fun with my “short” hair!
I’ve uploaded a video on YouTube with some shots of me before I went to the salon. Enjoy! (Be sure to subscribe to my YouTube channel for upcoming videos!)
Have a lovely Monday, friends!

Whaou! You’re wonderful!
Looks lovely! Can you show us the back?
I love it! You make me want to break out my hot rollers and try something new with my hair. Now, if I can only remember where I put those roller pins…
Your hair looks amazing! It definitely suits you.
Fabulous! You looked smashing even before you styled it. I can’t wait to see you play with it more. :>
Oh, it’s simply amazing! You’re definitely brave to get it cut, I haven’t brought myself to bring mine that short. So hair rolls it must be, when I do 40′s styles.
SO CUTE, though!
It was wonderful on you!
Casey, you look gorgeous! I should play with my hot rollers a bit. Your natural hair color really is perfect for you too.
Well, I can’t weigh in on authenticity, but lady, I think the cut is breathtakingly GORGEOUS on you. Seriously. I gasped when I saw those images and giggled my way through your adorable video!
WOW! You look so much like Rita in the first shot! Lovely new hairstyle!
Wow! You look stunning! Could you show those cutting diagrams? I think I need a new haircut
Oh, your hair looks wonderful! And yes, if I move down south we have to have a get together! Jonny and I are thinking of Nashville, but I have family in Pensacola so we’ll definitely be visiting Florida! Being a Maryland girl this Maine weather is just too much for me to handle.

Your new haircut is so cute, especially as you curled your hair.
Oh, it’s Rita all over again! I think it’s gorgeous. Good for you! The first photo is really nice. I’ll be sure to check out the video – no time right now.
Wow, the result looks soo good, really like the curl at the front/bangs, very movie star glamour. Also your hair looked rather nice even with just it’s natural waves. Still, can’t wait to see how it turns out when you try pincurls etc. Have fun experimenting!
The new cut looks great! You always look so cute and glam at the same time.
You look smashing! Maybe you could post the cutting directions so we could *all* have them to bring to our stylist? Great red lipstick too!
Oh! You look lovely!
You’re hair type looks just about the same as mine also. *sigh* I don’t know how to get my hair cut
LOVE the cut and style, perfect with the hot rollers.
Stunning! The haircut really suits you and the style is gorgeous!
SO cute Casey and just perfect for you!!
And may I just say how poised and lovely your videos always are!
Happy Monday to You!
Wow, Casey!! You look sooo glam with your new haircut. I’d love to try something similar, but when I’ve trimmed my curly hair to that length in the past, I ended up looking less like Rita and more like a ten-year old! Maybe the difference is in the specific cut. Which style out of the book did you go with?
Oh wonderful! I wish my hair could curl like that, it’s too straight and just falls out straight away. Lovely, lovely haircut!
I’m loving the B&W pic!
Awww, you look lovely! I was worried when I read the blog title that you had cropped it all off boyish style. But then I saw the pics and you look great. All curly and girly
Ohh you blog is so lovely! I’m completely swept of my feet. I can’t understand why I haven’t visited it before!
I will definately write a post about you on my blog tomorrow, as my new favourite.
Hope you are all well,
Miriam
Oh hell-O! I’m glad you are back, I kept on checking your blog to see if you were back… and with a new haircut and layout too! I love both the haircut and the layout. I’ve been gearing up to chop off some of my hair too (it’s been weighing me down lately) so I’m definitely inspired!
Holy mama, you look hot! That cut’s adorable.
You look adorable with that haircut! Very, very ’40s, but still wonderfully modern.
Wow! You look great! Your stylist did a fantastic job!
Super cute Casey!!
I love the big curls, and bouncy vintage style! I hope you have lots of fun learning how to style it.
Oh, that is gorgeous!! You’re making me want to cut my hair. I think it’d really go for a similar cut – or shucks, what about an auburn version of Marylin Monroe?
You look great! This style really suits you! I cannot wait to see what ideas you will have with new hairstyles!!!
Fabulous! Cute hair and great video
Your hairstyle is lovely!
you look absolutely gorgeous! i love it.
You really look fantastic!
You look absolutely stunning! x
You are so so lovely I adore your blog!
Could that hair BE any more fabulous? Good call on taking the diagrams. I have a really hard time getting my hairdresser to understand my references even when i do bring pictures. A complete success here I say!
