Can you believe it’s Friday already again?! I always get to the end of a week, look at my “to-do wish list” (the one that doesn’t include all the required weekly items, like housework! lol), and feel like I’ve only done a tenth of what I wanted. Do you ever feel that way? Take for instance the 1950s sundress pattern I’m working on. So far all I have managed to do is cut out the bodice muslin and fit it. Granted, this is a needful step–the bodice wouldn’t have fit correctly over my small chest if I hadn’t checked it first–but I didn’t get as far as beginning on the dress with the good fabric. *sigh* Now my head is teeming with other sewing ideas too! *double sigh* haha!
The reason behind the idea onslaught is going through all the vintage pattern images I’ve saved over the years. It would not be inaccurate to state that I have hundreds of these. Here are some of my favorites (most are from my poking around on Ebay) to give you a peek into what’s catching my eye!

Have any fashion images (current or past) been haunting you this week? I’d love to see them!

- Rhiannon posted some drop-dead-cute 30s springtime looks inspired by stars of the era
- Leah posted some excellent tips on 5 ways to maintain your inspiration (worth printing off and keeping nearby!)
- an amazing Anthropologie-inspired cardigan
- Solanah made the case for wearing vintage hats and the zip they add to any outfit
- this is certainly one of the neatest ideas: using headboards to create a quirky bench!
Now I must be off to do some “serious” stuff–work, cleaning, and perhaps a little sewing? What are your plans for this weekend? The weather is so gloriously sunny and springish that I’m just dying to get out and enjoy it this weekend…

Those inspiration tips are gold – thanks for sharing them.
Oh how lovely! I can’t wait to see that dress! I should be finishing my dress today. Making it without a pattern is quite interesting…lol!
I always feel the same way on Fridays! Where has the week gone?! Todays grocery shopping day for me.

Yes! In fact your question is so timely because I just posted last night about a pattern I’ve been craving. I’m also working on a top that I had wanted to get done this week, but is turning out slow going. I get to a point where I just want this thing done, so I hurry and inevitably mess something up which delays the process even more! I think I need to accept the fact that sewing a garment can (and maybe should) take several days, even weeks if I want it done to my perfectionist standards. Sigh…
Oooh… The top left and top right are my favorites. I want that hat! *dies*
Oh my teacups look so pretty amongst all those other pretty favourites! My plan for this weekend involves read, read some more, going out dancing tomorrow night, read again. 500 page novels to read in less than a week are nasty!
I have a huge pile of patterns I’ve been meaning to make for ages, just sitting there! They just keep piling up, its weighing me down!! I love those tips on how to stay inspired too, thanks for the link!
Thanks for the add sweets
I love all of those patterns, I cant wait to see what you are making.
This weekend involves collecting and posting those how to clean instructions. People had some really great suggestions, I’m glad you said hats though, for some reason cleaning hats slipped my mind (silly me).
My grandma got me a bunch of clothes at an estate sale yesterday, and all I’ve seen so far are two 50s dresses, but they reminded me of you. So cute, one is red candy striped, and the other is handmade with cool trim and a matching bolero, I’ll show them off next week.
XOXO
oohh this has inspired me to make something now! i love all of those dressmaking patterns! x
so adorable, I love the patterns. I have been dreaming about a full box pleated skirt…knee length..in plaid taffeta…oh so pretty.
What a wonderful set of links! I’ve really enjoyed those. Thanks for keeping me one my toes.

That inspiration post is too timely and *so* correct in it’s advice. Thank you for the link — and a new blog to read.
