A few have already noticed a mysterious change that took place overnight to the blog… I uploaded a new layout that I’d been working on! After months of trying to get a new look up for the blog (as my friends and family can vouch: I’m one of those people that are constantly changing something visually around me; I can’t stand things being the same for too long. lol!), it’s finally 100% live. So if you’re reading this in a feed service, be sure to hop on over to the blog to take a quick peek at the new threads (be sure to scroll to the bottom of the page; the footer is one of my favorite elements in the design)!

This week, I’ve been obsessing over 1940s sportswear and daywear again. We’re talking drag-my-pile-of-old-magazines-everywhere-with-me obsession. If we watch a movie (this week it’s been season two of NCIS; we don’t have cable so we rely on dvds), I’m sitting there paging through one of those old periodicals with my sketchbook in hand. I don’t think I’ve been this inspired by clothing since the PW (pre-wedding) days; which could be a good sign that Casey is finally returning to normal. hehe! But, since I don’t want to tire you all with my relentless barrage of 1940s wear, here’s a little something from an earlier decade to whet your appetite (above).

- I simply adore this idea for using vintage pants hangers as informal picture frames
- I stumbled across the Queens of Vintage site this week–some pretty neat stuff!
- loving these beautiful Valentine’s Day card ideas over at Martha Stewart
- did you know you can browse through the LIFE photo archive online? Fashion-history gold mine! [ via ]
- if you’re looking for a romantic ‘do, Aya has a video tutorial for a Titanic-style updo!
Stay tuned for next week’s posts… I have a couple plans up my sleeve right now (another video tutorial, anyone?). Until then, I hope you all have a lovely weekend!

Your new design is wonderful! I think the footer may be my favorite part too
I can only hope to have a layout half as charming when I get my blog up and running! (And I thought I was the only one obsessing over 1940s daywear…I can hardly get my mind anything else lately!)
I love the new design, did you do it all yourself hand coded and all?
The new layout is superfantastico! You’ve got the touch, C.
Oh my word! Your new design is stunning! I especially love the bottom part … aren’t those old images just a wonderful thing to look at for hours and hours
Have a wonderful weekend and thank you for the great inspirations!
I love this design
So pretty.
Also, your sweater turned out beautifully.
Would you mind sharing which Iva Rose booklet you used?
Cheers
The blog looks fabulous! And I’m the same way, I have to keep refreshing the things around me or I get bored!
I ADORE the new look – so fabulous! Great to see you online again too… I missed your lovely posts! :>
Great makeover! Very fresh and crisp, and it really seems to incorporate all your favorite things and colors!
(p.s. please make the header ‘home’-clickable again? pretty please?)
This is by far one of the cutest layouts I have seen in a blog…ever! Love it!
I absolutely love! the new layout. Bottom and top! Did you have any copyright issues with the image in the header? Would you mind sharing what program you used to lay it out? I’d like to code my blog myself someday, so I’d be terribly interested to know.
(btw, down at the bottom where it says “Images and content copyright 2009…” your name says Caeey Brown, I think. I just point it out because I’d want to know, if it were me.
LOVE the new look!!
Oh wow, I’m so impressed! Your blog honestly looks so lovely I’m so jealous! Beautiful!
Yay I love the new layout! Your blog looks gorgeous! I stumbled upon the LIFE photo archive a few weeks back too, and it’s so cool! Plus the resolution is quite good, so I definitely want to take some and post them up on my wall! I love 1940s wear too!
Oh wow Casey! It’s looking absolutely amazing. Far better than the new one I’ve just updated to. But like yourself, I am someone who needs to change things visually to stay inspired (I attribute my lack of updates to this!) so it’ll tide me over until I have money to actually pay someone else!
The new design is absolutely gorgeous– I used to put lots of effort into web layouts but I’ve gotten too lazy over time… This is simply beautiful.
And I totally loved the pants hanger idea at Design*Sponge too… Was going to post about it but it’s still sitting in my drafts folder! Oops.
Looks fantastic! Good work my dear!

Love the new look!
Hi there Casey!
I found your wonderful blog through Madelaine Miranda, I’m on a links list on her site with other retro blogs and finally got around to reading them all.
I would love to add you to my links list, there is so much inspiration here!
