Finally! I’ve formatted and uploaded the video tutorial of how to do the 1940s style ‘do that I posted in May. After much fiddling and figuring how to add titles and music, it’s (mostly) ready for public viewing. The tutorial is actually in two parts, since it was a bit long for YouTube. But I hope you enjoy!!
Let me know if you try this for yourself… I’d love to see your version! Have a lovely day, my dears!

Great tutorials Casey! I really want to try out something similar now! I’ll have to adapt it slightly because my hair is quite a bit shorter than yours, but your wonderful tips & tricks will help!
So much fun! If only my hair was long enough to do like that!
Thnak you!
Oh you’re so cute! I don’t have as long hair as you have so i’ll stick to my pincurls, i’m doing a post tomorrow about pincurls. I think that you should do a tutorialvideo of the hairstyle you did a few days ago, i really want to know how you did the back. The sides and front i know, just do some rolls but oh the back is so lovely.
I love video tutorials! So much easier to understand! Thank you!!
Hurrah! My hair is too short for this, but still loved seeing you teach. I’m gonna try a scarf-tying video tutorial tonight, I think. Wish me luck, beautiful!
I love the tutorial! It looks so nice on you! I would love to do this one but I have bangs and I’m afraid it won’t look as nice as yours (plus I don’t want to pin up my bangs or anything because I have a huge forehead). I was wondering if there were any 40s hairstyles I could do with my bangs. I have layered straight across bangs above my eyes. My hair is extremely thick and it’s always tangled (even minutes after combing so I gave up on that). Plus my hair is long but a wee bit shorter than yours. Any help would be great! Again thanks for the video and you look gorgeous with the hairstyle!
Hello! And thank you for this, I’ve always admired these kind of hairstyles, but have never really tried myself… Now that I can see how it’s done, I’m really looking forward to trying out some new looks! Thanks again!
Mademoiselle M.
I gave this a try today. It was kinda how I had been doing my hair lately anyway, but it hadn’t occurred to me to do the push forward, so as to create the “poof” on the sides. Mine isn’t quite as fabulous as yours because my hair is shorter (not quite to my shoulders) and I have bangs that I’m trying to grow out. As such, the bangs and pulled back in the middle, as well. (I tried to create a “poof” out of them, too, but was wildly unsuccessful.) If I think of it, I’ll post a picture for ya.
Thanks for the tute!
I LOVE the tutorial!
I have thin, straight hair, and when I want to add a little thickness I run a small amount of Herbal Essences Long-term Relationship Leave-in Condition. The leave-in is thick and creamy, opposed to other leave-ins that I’ve used.
I’d definitely going to try this style. I usually use hair combs to put up my hair, which give a very vintage look, but this is worth a try!
Oh, Casey! You are so adorable! I love the look of your hair and it’s so fun that you posted a video on how to do it. The music that you chose goes well with it too. I’m soooo curious now what you will look like for your wedding. I can hardly wait to see pics from that!
Take care,
Marie
