As much as I adore browsing photos of movie stars from my favorite decades, there is something just as interesting–if not more so–about snapshots of regular people. People going about their lives, not posed and made up for a Hollywood studio. I’ve always been fascinated by these types of images; they’re pretty fantastic to glean fashion inspiration from. Here are a few I’ve found on Flickr, that I thought you might enjoy too…
I have a teeny, tiny collection of vintage snapshots, but looking through these reminds me I need to expand it a bit! Hope you all have had a lovely weekend and are inspired by these…

I agree — there’s something very interesting and charming about snapshots of regular people that one can’t quite find in a posed studio shot.
Thanks for these pictures! They’re quite refreshing.
oh i love vintage photos. thanks for posting!
Oh I share this fascination…love vintage candids!
That one in the third row of the gorgeous woman smiling and laughing is simply marvelous. Gives me a glowy feeling inside.
Suburb pic’s! Oh How I wish I lived in that era!
I agree. I have some of my grandma’s albums, and her and her sisters loved to dress up. It is all so inspiring. Love the snapshots you found!! Happy Monday!!
I love these photos too! I have an old one of a man, (I think he’s in the army) riding an old motorcycle. Old photos have such narrative!
Oh, I agree! Of course having a camera wasn’t as common back then, and snapping pics wasn’t free like it is for us. I think that’s why people are often a bit posey in old pics
There is something so lovely and languid about these shots. People seem to be more carefree and breezy (although I realise that this was not always the case). And I so enjoy seeing ordinary women going about their days dressed so beautifully. It just goes to show that jeans have become a much over used item for the lazy. Thanks for the lovely shots.
