The lovely Vintage Kawaii Mama tagged me the other day with a fun meme. I tend to not do these very often, but they’re perfect for the weeks when I’m away and don’t have much exciting blog content. rofl!
What are the last three things you purchased?
A length of yellow, heavy weight cotton that I’m dying to make into a late 1950s dress. A pretty coin purse and vintage velveteen coin purse from the thrift shop.
What are the last three songs you downloaded?
Hmm… Probably some Andrews Sister’s songs! I’ve been totally into them lately… And Betty Hutton, Jo Stafford and Lena Horne!
What are the last three places you visited?
Mostly local spots since I don’t get around much anymore. lol
What are your three favorite movies?
They constantly change! But some of my all-time favorites from a fashion perspective are The Women, Gilda and The Divorcee. Yummy fashion!
What are your three favorite possessions.
Definitely my computer, hands-down. lol! I don’t know what I’d do without it! Also my beautiful stash of vintage lace and trims. And the black velveteen, a-line 60s coat I bought years ago for $4. That is my stand-by for the cooler months.
What three things can you not live without?
Tea definitely. I drink at least two, large cups a day; more typically four. My phone as well (for calling a Very Special guy), and my sketchbook!
What would be your three wishes?
To have a lovely wedding that is relatively stress free and beautiful (that’s two, right?). And to find a gorgeous, 50s/60s suit or dress to change into before we leave the reception. Terribly non-essential, but I have been dreaming of finding something spectacular to wear!
What three things haven’t you done yet?
Traveled! I spent my childhood looking through National Geographic, imagining what it would be like to visit all those amazing spots on the globe. Definitely want to get some of that in; Japan, Spain, Italy and Germany are tops on my list right now. I also haven’t gotten my Associate’s degree yet… probably should since I’m almost done! Third thing (totally fashion related–I’m such a geek!) is finding an owning (and affording!) a beautiful, 1940s evening gown; the kind made out of drapey crepe and embellished with sequins or beads…
What are your three favorite dishes?
Sushi. Daddy’s homemade pizza with basil pesto, olives and sun dried tomatoes. Mahi Mahi with mago salsa and fresh veggies.
Which three celebrities would you most like to hang out with?
Hmm… considering I think of designers in the same category as celebrities, probably my top three would be Claire McCardell, Adrian, and Cristobal Balenciaga. Of course, this would require a time machine! lol
Name three things that freak you out?
Traffic that is driving too slowly. When my computer crashes. Spiders that like to try and hop into bed with me!
Name three unusual things you are good at.
Folding my tongue in half is tops! I also used to be pretty good at tatting.
Which three things are you coveting?
Any shoes from Minna Parikka (serious shoe envy!!!), this dress from Trashy Diva is calling my name (wouldn’t it be fun to wear after my wedding, since I’m going with the Japanese reception?!), and pretty much any of the stockings Anthropologie is selling this season…
Name three bloggers you are tagging.
Rhiannon (Liebemarlene)
Jennifer (Fabled Needle)
Betty Lou (Betty Lou Got a New…)
As always, if you’re not tagged, but would love to post this on your blog, please do!

Very fun to hear your answers to all those questions. I love The Andrews Sisters too! I also just watched Gilda and The Women is last last week or so. Love them both! I just last night watched My Favorite wife with Cary Grant, you must see!
Oh i love this things. Now i’m gonna do some thinking
Betty Hutton is too cute for words! Her personality really comes out in her songs. If you haven’t already seen it, I recommend to pick up a copy of “Star Spangled Rhythm” asap! It’s a great war-era movie packed with great stars from the day. :]
These tag question things are fun to read
Your list of favourite foods literally made my mouth water– I like the exact same type of things! And tea! I drink tea all the time, it is so much better than coffee.
How FUN to learn all these Caseyfacts! And, for the record, I have serious footwear envy of the Minna Parkkia owners of the world. Sooooo preeety.
