Happy Monday, my friends! I hope your’s are going a bit better than mine… it’s been one of those “fuzzy” days when I can’t seem to keep myself on target (aka following the To Do List). hehe!

As promised, pictures of the pretty, 1940s dress pattern I made up recently! I’m rather smitten with the style, but I have to admit the collar is still something I’m getting used to. Or maybe it’s the bow and collar together that I am not sure about. Anyway, I do love the fabric–a pretty print that I found at Z&S Fabrics this spring. It’s part of Heather Bailey’s line for Freshcuts; I really like how it’s slightly retro but very modern as well. Makes for a good combination!

The bow was something I added to the pattern, and was quite simple to make. I was inspired by these lovely ones at Loulou Loves You!, and the idea that I could have different backs (like a pinback and hairclip) to use the bow more as an accessory rather than something that is an integral part of the dress. I need to make at least one other… I think in some antique black fabric I have from an old dress that I’ve been systematically taking bits off of for awhile…
Now for some more, lovely-frock fun! Marjorie recently posted a new piece of artwork that featured a 1920s dress. Which reminded me that I hadn’t posted any ‘20s fashion illustrations in awhile. So I hope you’ll enjoy these!

Ta-ta-for-now!

I just love it!! And your ‘so’ beautiful!
Hey! That looks great! I really like the yellow-teal/green combination. And I think the bow in front looks sweet.
P.S. That little bag in super cute.
You’re a knockout, as always! Love that big, sassy bow.
I suppose imitation is the sincerest form of flattery! You did a cute job, looks lovely with your dress <3 Loulou xo
Just found your nice blog! Will be checking back often from now on!
I found these two patterns while digging through a pile at the thrift shop and they made me think of you and your fab style. Maybe it’s the pose of the brunette on 8659?

What a pretty combination! I don’t think I could ever pull off that bow, but I love the style, and it looks great on you.
