Today has been a bit harried–I’ve been getting listings ready for Ebay most of the day! hehe. I’m so excited because this week I’m going to start adding a few pieces of vintage clothing. So keep your eyes peeled for the debut tomorrow evening…
Andrea sweetly awarded me a with a creative blog award! (Thank you, Andrea!) So in the spirit of spreading the blog award love further, here’s who I’d like to award for their outstanding creative inspiration!
♥ Behind the Curtain – Kathy’s love of retro inspires me constantly! She not only shares her interest in vintage and vintage living, but practical tips like finding the perfect back seam stockings, or storing old paper goodies.
♥ Marmee Craft – Marjorie is one of the sweetest, most creative people I know! Her art and love of the past has inspired me again and again!
♥ Sarah Blank Studios – Another artist, Sarah always has the most amazing photos to show, or new artwork that she’s working on! It’s like stepping back into a beautiful old photo to look through her blog…
♥ Frolic! – Chelsea’s entries are always inspiring and beautifully presented. She finds some great places to share and get ideas! I always look forward to her posts.
♥ Abby Try Again – One of the blogs that has been on my feed reader the longest, I always love her artistic musings and links to interesting websites she finds. Lovely!

But, it doesn’t stop there… I’d like to award one of my lucky readers with a little surprise too!!! Leave a comment between now and Sunday (August 3) for a chance to win this assortment of goodies perfect for inspiring some creativity! The prize is a little vintage-crafty grab bag: buttons, fabric and an old sewing manual (that has some really cute ideas for accessories!)–all wrapped up in a sweet package! Just be sure to comment with your email address (which won’t be published; it’s just for my eyes only!), so if you win, I can contact you. I’ll announce the winner next Monday!
In the meantime, good luck!!!

I suppose now is the best time to tell you something. I don’t know you but I’ve been reading your blog for about a month now. I hope that’s not creepy. I found you on burda and love your style. I just got a sewing machine so I’m very excited about new sewing projects and your blog is pretty awesome and inspirational.
My favorite blogs are (I’m going to list a couple):
http://joshreads.com/
http://reluctanthomunculus.blogspot.com/
http://overheardlines.blogspot.com/
http://www.vacant.cc/
http://vanillaandhoney.blogspot.com/
They are random. Enjoy!
My favorite blog is “Lolly Knitting Around” (http://lollygirl.com/blog). Lolly is creative, knits and weaves beautifully, and is literally a ray of sunshine. Her blog is a pleasure to read every day. Very inspiring on many levels!
Awe, thanks darling!
I always save my favorite blog for last when I check my rss feeds, and that slot on my list is saved for Bitter Betty Blogs ( http://bitterbettyindustries.blogspot.com/). She has such a variety of posts and is a truly awesome lady, and she takes great photos of her new vintage wardrobe!
Well, you know – and no, this isn’t a kiss-up at all! – I seriously like yours as one of my favorites. I read several, all of which I like for different reasons, but yours does rant near the top.
First off, you’re a fellow Virginian, and when you talk about things and places in Virginia, you remind me of home and how much I miss my beloved green state!
Second, we share in common a fair amount of things – beautiful clothing, vintage goodies, pretty jewelry, and I should mention that my childhood bedroom was painted a very similar shade of blue to what you show in your pictures.
Third, your blog is just rather pretty and cheerful. It seems you almost always have nice things to say. You’re positive and inspiring, and trust me, it’s such a refreshing change from all the melancholy and drama-riddled nonsense I sometimes read in others’ blogs/journals. And well, lastly, I do mean that inspirational part. I’ve never been big into sewing, (though I am a fellow crafter), but after seeing the creations that you and other such talented ladies can produce, I feel compelled to acquire my own machine and try my hand at making a garment or two. And trust me, as a kid, I despised sewing. I barely made it through home-ec. But now, I want to try it again, and perhaps this time I’ll have better luck — and more patience!
Oh, how very sweet of you to do something like this.
And Thank You so much for mentioning my little bloglette!
I think, if I have to choose just one favorite (which is a hard task, indeed) that Vanessa’s magical realm would be high on the list:
http://afancifultwist.typepad.com/
I love her writing style, and all the fanciful whimsy!! And she’s so kind and warm, too!
But I’ll have to do a posting with the top five, too!
(And that will be hard, too!!…eeeep…so many lovelies to choose from!!)
Thank you again, Casey, for your kindness, friendship and for mentioning my little whimsy nook.
Hoooray!
Ooooh, I shall have to keep checking your eBay listings! That lace jacket (or possibly dress) is mouthwatering.
I will bow out of the contest, as a non-crafter, but you are awesome to share your bounty,
Congrats on the award! You deserve it! I love reading your blog
I really like (inside a black apple) Emily Martin is super talented and successful http://www.theblackapple.typepad.com/ and the blog is just fun and super cute.
OMG, I have so many. My favorite one at the moment is Outsapop Trashion – http://www.outsapop.com/.
She has the best trashion diy tutorials.
My two favorite inspiring, creative blogs are currently yours and Posie gets cozy.
My favorite is this one:
http://allthishappiness.blogspot.com/
I think because I identify with her. I dress pretty similarly, I love to read, and I used to be an English major until I switched to Spanish literature.
My favourite blog at the moment is http://www.grannymar.com/blog/
I love it because of the variety, and because it makes me laugh. It makes my husband laugh too, so it MUST be good!
I don’t know if I have an absolute favorite right now! There are so many amazing blogs out there. One of my favorites though is http://tartelette.blogspot.com because her culinary creations are inspiring and make me want to lick the computer screen every time I look at her gorgeous pictures!
ooh, I have so many favorites! One of my favoritest is Bella Dia’s the Crafty Crow, which compiles so many good ideas from various craft blogs (she does all the “work” for me!). I also LOVE Sugar City Journal, in which two sisters-in-law sew gorgeous clothes for their kids (and their shop) and post beautiful pictures all the time. Thanks for this giveaway, by the way! I stumbled across your blog through a link in Not Martha.
My favorite blog right now is Blog full of jelly (blogfullofjelly.blogspot.com). She has the most esoteric, funky aesthetic ever, a house full of the most legitly rad 20th century antiques, and killer recipes (the granola is my fave!) My email is spandexpony@gmail.com!
I really love Gala over at http://galadarling.com/. She’s so inspiring and if I ever feel down, her blog’s the place to go
My favorite blog of the moment is Elinkan ! I love the simplicity of her style and how she makes the most everyday things seem so beautiful. She is also my age which I think is awesome!
