:: trying not to go cross-eyed ::

05.15.08 {through the looking glass}

Sorry for the spotty posting this week–I have been incredibly busy with work! Busy in a good way though; finishing up projects, working on proposals for new ones, and dedicating time to the “important and official” stuff that needed to be done. Time consuming, yes, but what new business isn’t when it’s starting? hehe. I love being productive anyway; it always satisfies my need to constantly be doing something. I’m sure a certain person I’m Very Fond Of will call me a workaholic when he finds out how much time I’ve been spending in front of the computer, but all in good fun. lol!

My sister and I snuck out Tuesday afternoon for a quick run to the thrift store. She wanted to check out the records (we both collect vintage vinyl; but her collection is far more focused–the Beatles, Dylan, the Kinks, etc.–than mine which is comprised of whatever catches my fancy), and I wanted to just rummage. I almost didn’t find anything, but on the way out the door, this little lotus bowl caught my eye:

Perfect companion to the yellow one I bought a few months earlier! I love the red… it’s a bit garish, but I adore it all the same.

Here’s a photo of the finished nightgown refashion that I posted a snippet of earlier this week–only me, rather than the dress form, modeling it! hehe! I’m rather in love with it right now!

Oh, and before I dash off… look what arrived in the mail the other day:

My aunt found this beautiful, antique nightgown in her attic and sweetly sent it to me! Needs a good soak, but I think it’s just the thing for a new dress. Sort of like those ever-popular embroidered Mexican frocks, only with loads of lace. Perfect!

I must run–my to-do like is threatening to rebuke me for not having crossed off more already. Thank you all for your sweet comments lately and I shall be back tomorrow with some fun links (any hopefully that hair-do tutorial I’ve been promising!!!). Have a lovely afternoon!

    Oddly enough, I was at a thrift store in the middle of nowhere on the weekend and out of all the mess in the store my eye was drawn to the exact same little lotus bowl in orange! I will post it later on my Flickr page :)
